Flames erupted onstage as Cage The Elephant epically kicked off iHeartRadio ALTer EGO presented by Capital One. The show returned on Saturday night (January 17) at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
Cage The Elephant took the stage with an energetic performance of career-spanning, eclectic songs to engage the arena audience from the start of the show. The six-member band, celebrating their milestone 20th anniversary in 2026, launched their set with “Spiderhead.” They kept the energy alive with “Neon Pill,” “Social Cues,” “Trouble,” “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked,” “Cold Cold Cold,” “Shake Me Down” and “Cigarette Daydreams,” before closing with “Come A Little Closer.” Lead singer Matt Shultz said as he introduced his bandmates (Matthan Minster, Brad Shultz, Daniel Tichenor, Jared Champion and Nick Bockrath) that it’s an “honor, a blessing, a privilege to be here.”
Before they kicked off the 2026 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO show, Cage The Elephant chatted with iHeart’s Booker & Stryker about marking two decades together, opening for Oasis (they said of the experience to “always watch your heroes and pick up little things watching the performances”), and hinting at what’s next. Cage The Elephant confirmed they’re “working on a new record,” which they aim to debut by the end of the year. Watch the full interview here.
