Last month, Mumford & Sons announced their fifth album RUSHMERE and officially released its title track and lead single after giving fans a sneak peek in December. On Tuesday (February 18), the folk rockers shared its second single, "Malibu," which also happens to be the album's opening track.

“'Malibu' was the first song we wrote when we got back together in Los Angeles in January 2023," Marcus Mumford said in a statement. "The song just felt like us, and the process of recording it with Dave [Cobb] captured it on record in a way that made us feel it had to open RUSHMERE. We love it.”

The album is slated for a March 28 release and will mark Mumford & Sons' first in seven years, following 2018's Delta. Its title is a full-circle moment for the band. "RUSHMERE is the spot where it all began for Mumford & Sons," explains a press release. "The pond, located on Wimbledon Common in south-west London, is where Marcus MumfordBen Lovett, and Ted Dwane first hung out and imagined the initial idea of putting a band together. Rushmere was as familiar to them as the instruments they played, and is at the heart of their origin story."

Mumford & Sons are heading out on an intimate club tour next month. Check out a full list of dates and listen to "Malibu" below.
