Both Disneyland and Disney World are making changes to their Jungle Cruise attractions!

They both will be changing the negative depictions of native peoples throughout the attraction. According to Carmen Smith, the Executive, Creative Development & Inclusion Strategist for Walt Disney Imagineering stated the following "As Imagineers, it is our responsibility to ensure experiences we create and stories we share reflect the voices and perspectives of the world around us. The skippers of the Jungle Cruise bring irreverent humor to guests of all ages, and we're excited to be adding to that legacy — along with a new animated skipper figure — by celebrating their adventures and influence."

The new attraction will have more diverse tourists portrayed as well as the animation of the skipper instead of the live Disney tour guide.
