There are two situations that have become automatic bet spots for me in European soccer.
The first is if Bayern Munich's spread price is at even money or higher.
Bayern has 22 victories of two or more goals across all competitions this season, so of course I jumped at the price on their spread against Stuttgart, who is in the Bundesliga relegation race.
The other must-bet spot is Mallorca at home in La Liga. Mallorca is on a five-game home winning streak in which it conceded just two goals.
It was easy to build the top of my weekend betting card, and there are a few other favorable spots on the board in the English Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga.
Weekend Soccer Selections
Overall Record: 95-94
German Bundesliga
Stuttgart vs. Bayern Munich (-1.5; +110) (Saturday, 12:30 p.m. ET)
Bayern Munich has been on cruise control in domestic play over the last few weeks.
Bayern has four straight multi-goal victories against German opposition, and it scored at least three goals in all of those victories.
Stuttgart has one clean sheet dating back to October 22 and it conceded twice against Bayern earlier this season. Bayern had an expected goals total of 2.2 in the 2-2 draw.
Stuttgart only has four wins in 11 home matches in the Bundesliga, so it's not like there are some unbeatable home team that can hold Bayern in check.
Union Berlin (-115) vs. Cologne (Saturday, 9:30 a.m. ET)
Union Berlin is still in the Bundesliga title race despite losing to Bayern last week.
The third-place side in Germany should get back on track against a Cologne side that is dreadful away from home.
Cologne has the second-worst goal differential and fourth-worst defensive record on the road in the Bundesliga.
Union Berlin is tied with Bayern for the fewest home concessions in league play, so this sets up as a perfect spot for Union to bounce back and stay three points back of Bayern.
Mainz (-115) vs. Hoffenheim (Saturday, 9:30 a.m. ET)
The Mainz-Hoffenheim clash is another example of where to take advantage of a poor road team.
Hoffenheim is 2-2-6 on its travels in the Bundesliga. The 16th-place team has taken eight points from a possible 30 on the road.
Mainz enters Saturday with three wins in its last four league home matches. It outscored opponents 12-3 in those victories. The lone loss in that run came against Bayern Munich, which is an understandable result.
Mainz should keep rolling at home against a Hoffenheim side mired in the relegation battle.
La Liga
Mallorca (-155) vs. Elche (Saturday, 12:30 p.m. ET)
Mallorca has been in fantastic form over its last five home games.
The mid-table side played with the unbeatable style of a top-tier team in La Liga.
Mallorca produced clean sheets at home against Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid as the highlights of the five-game winning run at home.
Saturday's victory should come easier to Mallorca since Elche is dead last in La Liga and without a road win all season.
Barcelona (-1.5; +140) vs. Valencia (Sunday, 10:15 a.m. ET)
Barcelona allowed one goal in 11 La Liga matches at Camp Nou.
That's one of the most remarkable stats I have ever seen, and that defensive record should hold up against a Valencia side that has scored the fourth-fewest road goals in the Spanish top flight.
Barca produced multiple goals in four of the last five games against Valencia, and it scored two or more times in 10 of its 16 home matches across all competitions.
If you fit in all of the above trends together, a multi-goal Barca win seems very likely.
English Premier League
Brighton (-130) vs. West Ham (Saturday, 10 a.m. ET)
West Ham has not won away from home in the EPL since August 28.
The Hammers have FA Cup and Europa Conference League road wins since then, but they have been awful in EPL play. They have an 1-3-8 record with seven goals scored, the third-fewest road goals total in the league.
Brighton is the far better team and I think the Seagulls handle a wretched road team.
3-Team Parlays
Bayern Munich/Barcelona/Arsenal ML (+159)
Bayern Munich/Barcelona/Arsenal -1.5 (+709)
I wanted to bet Arsenal in some capacity, but the money line and spread prices for the Gunners' home match with Bournemouth are too high.
Bournemouth allowed 14 goals in four matches against the EPL's top three this season and it just conceded four times to Manchester City.
I decided to take a shot here by combining Arsenal with the two other European powers I love this weekend.
