Who Will Play Drums for the Foo Fighters Now?

As the Foo Fighters gear up for their return to touring, that leaves us with one question: Who will be on the drumkit? No one could ever possibly replace the late great Taylor Hawkins, but there are have been some really good drummers that have been on stage with them since Taylor's passing. Let's connect some dots here:

Back in September, Rufus Taylor (drummer for The Darkness) commented on drumming w/ The Foos at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts. He also played drums on 'Best Of You' and "These Days" with the band at Wembley Stadium and he was extremely close friends w/ Taylor Hawkins. His dad is also Roger Taylor of Queen. He's 31 years old and is no stranger to the world of touring and rock and roll.

There are some other names that are being thrown around; Josh Freese, a session drummer for FF.

Shane Hawkins, Taylor's son, made a guest appearance on the kit at the tribute concerts as well as Nandi Bushell. (i highly doubt they'd have Nandi Bushell since she's still a kid).

There's also Veteran session drummer Omar Hakim, who also played with the Foos at the concerts, who brings decades of experience as both a jazz and rock drummer ( and also played the drums on David Bowie’s “Modern Love”), he's 63, older than most the band, but he definitely understands an aggressive touring schedule.

This is a question that has left fans wondering for a while.

Check out this article from Variety that goes into more depth about some of the other drummers that could be in mind.
