Wow, new music Friday just keeps getting better! So far this Friday we get Green Day's album from The Network, we get a new Bastille EP, we get a live album from Arctic Monkeys and now just announced, we will get a covers EP from Death Cab For Cutie called 'The Georgia EP'. The new EP sees Ben Gibbard and company covering artists from the state of Georgia including TLC, R.E.M., Neutral Milk Hotel, Cat Power and Vic Chesnutt. (I'm really excited to hear their cover of TLC's 'Waterfalls'!)
In a statement about the new EP, Gibbard said, “We created this exclusive e.p. of songs by some of our favorite Georgia artists for our friend Stacey Abrams and all the hard-working people at Fair Fight Action. We strongly believe in the work Fair Fight has done to assure free and fair elections in Georgia and beyond and have been honored to assist them throughout the 2020 campaign.”
The Georgia EP is due out this Friday, December 4th, exclusively on Bandcamp. As with Good Music, it will be available for download for just 24 hours. Ahead of the release, DCFC will perform as part of the “Rock the Runoff” virtual concert curated by Fair Fight. Scheduled for Thursday, it also features Common, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, EarthGang, and Monica.
