Best band in the world? UNDERSTATEMENT.
From Philly (and now scattered between here and Colorado), if you don't already know about Lotus, this is your chance to come and see them live. They will be apart of the Live-In-Drive-In series at the lot outside Citizens Bank Park and coming from someone like me who has based my entire career around the LIVE MUSIC SCENE...this is a band that you NEED TO KNOW. For almost 20 years they've been playing the most out-of-body live shows you could ever experience. If you're in it for the music...then this is your band. A Lotus live show is like nothing I could ever explain. It's the most meticulously crafted, sophisticated sonic perfection you will ever hear, taking the ENTIRE crowd (along with the band) on the most epic thrill ride/rock and roll/ dance party of your life. This is a band that every person in our city should make sure they know about.
A band like this makes their living off of their live show, but 2020 has changed that for a lot of touring musicians, so they are dropping their 10th studio album 'Free Swim' next week (and the first song they released like a month and a half ago, genuinely took me out of my quarantine depression). If you do anything the rest of this summer either 1) buy this new album or pre-order it (august 21st), or 2) get your tix to their Live-In-Drive-In show on September 4th, because it is going to be a party whether we're all stuck inside our cars or not.
