Back in the early 2000's, believe it or not (lol) bands used to have commercials on TV promoting their new albums. Today, it's pretty much all social media driven, but back in 2001, Blink-182 were promoting their new album "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" with a hilarious promo video mocking a pharmaceutical commercial.
