WARNING: Fake Solar Eclipse (of the heart) Glasses are being sold all over the country (including on Amazon, and Amazon is actually offering refunds- but I'll get to that in a second)
So millions of us will be staring up at the sky this upcoming Monday 8/21 and if you plan on checking out the solar eclipse, you'll need to protect your eyes. As a result, NASA is warning consumers as it has been spotting fakes online that could be very dangerous.
Amazon is cracking down on these fakes and offering consumers their money back for purchasing the fakes (read more HERE). According to NASA, in order to properly view the eclipse by looking at it directly, you need eye protection that complies with ISO 12312-2:2015.
