Black Pumas Cover Death’s ‘Politicians In My Eyes’

Well we already knew Black Pumas were pretty eclectic, but now they are crossing musical genres and covering a "proto-punk" song from a band named Death.

According to JamBase:

The song is called “Politicians In My Eyes.” The video clip comes as part ofLa Blogothèque’sReprisecovers seires.

The series features 10 eclectic bands and artists covering “a cult track from an opposite musical universe from their own,” as per the note accompanying the video. Hailing from Detroit in the early 1970s, punk pioneers Death released “Politicians In My Eyes” as a limited single in the mid-’70s but the track was re-released on the 2009 album…For The Whole World To See.. Black Pumas filmed and recorded their version of the song live at La Frette Sudios in La Frette-sur-Seine, France on February 24, 2020 just before the pandemic hit.

The video includes the performance as well as an interview with Black Pumas’ frontmanEric Burtonand guitarist/producerAdrian Quesada
