Monday Night Football kicked off it's 50th anniversary last night from Las Vegas as the newly moved (formerly Los Angeles) Raiders opened up their brand new stadium to take on the New Orleans Saints. But Allegiant Stadium had no fans in it due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Vegas' own the Killers DID play the halftime show...albeit slightly different than we are used to.
You see, they played socially distanced...ON A ROOFTOP high above the Las Vegas Strip! Holy moly, this was amazing.
Brandon Flowers said “Hello, we’re the Killers, and it’s our pleasure to welcome the Raiders to fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada" before their performance, which was broadcast on ESPN. “I think we’ve got just the song for the occasion.”
They brought all the energy while performing arguably their biggest hit, Mr. Brightside. Seeing drummer Ronald Venucci, Jr slay it on the drums had to be my favorite part of the performance.
