That Thing You Do! is one of the greatest music movies of all time.
Short version: Tom Hanks' directorial debut (he also wrote it!) about a band of young good looking guys that form a band, have a massive hit, and eventually fall apart and break up.
The 90s movie wasn't the best in theaters, but has since become a cult classic. Liv Tyler, Charlize Theron, and others got their big break from it.
Now, the cast is reuniting for a LIVE commentary of the movie on YouTube this Friday April 17, at 7:00pm ET/4:00pm PT. The livestream commentary is a special benefit for MusiCares. That organization provides emergency assistance to safeguard the well-being of music people in need. Cast member Ethan Embry announced the group’s first-ever reunion via Twitter.
