Two days in a row we've gotten GREAT news from The Cure. Yesterday, we learned they will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2019, and this morning, confirmation that the band is nearly finished with their first album in over a decade.
Robert Smith confirmed:
“Seeing all these new bands—I’ve listened to some of these bands and met so many of them that it’s kind of inspired me to do something new. So, yes, we’re going in about six weeks time to finish off what will be our first album in more than a decade. It’s very exciting times for us all around.”
The Cure is playing a slew of European festivals in 2019, hoping they find time to pay us a visit too. Fingers crossed!
