Tis the season for year end best of lists...and NME just named Lorde's "Melodrama" as the best album of 2017 saying:
"The New Zealand star sums up the raison d’être of her stunning second album with the understated chorus of fourth track ‘The Louvre’: “Broadcast the boom-boom-boom-boom and make ’em all dance to it”. This is a regret-drenched break-up album that waves a magic wand at pain and transforms it into pure pop magic. From house-influenced lead single ‘Green Light’ to the deliciously overwrought ‘Supercut’, ‘Melodrama’ gives you pauseto reflect on the past even as it takes your hand and leads you to the dancefloor."
The album was produced by our friend Jack Antonoff (of Bleachers), who also worked with Taylor Swift on the best selling album of the year "reputation"
Rounding out their Top 5 are:
2. Wolf Alice "Visions Of A Life"
3. Kendrick Lamar "DAMN"
4. Father John Misty "Pure Comedy"
5. LCD Soundsystem "American Dream"
