Well that stinks - Karoondinha Festival that was scheduled to take place next month near Penn State has been cancelled...and before I learned how to even properly pronounce the fest's name...womp womp.
Citing high costs and weak ticket sales for (what was supposed to be) the multi-stage, three-day festival for 30,000 people, the event was officially called off yesterday and ticket-holders will be refunded.
Chance The Rapper, Odesza, Paramore, The Roots, Marian Hill, Young The Giant, X Ambassadors, The Revivalists, Misterwives. PVRIS and more were scheduled to perform.
At least they were smart enough to pull the plug BEFORE the festival - guess we've learned some lessons thanks to the Fyre fest debacle earlier this year.
Feels like we've been asking the question a lot lately - are there too many festivals? Is the festival market over-saturated? This is another bit of evidence that yeah, maybe it is.
