Ahead of their new album Angel in Realtime next month on February 25th, Gang of Youths has released the 5th single off that project, "in the wake of your leave," a beautiful and uplifting new track stemming from the loss of front man Dave Le'aupepe's father that will have you soaring.
In my opinion, this group of Aussies have not missed once with their new material. I picked 'angel of 8th ave' as my top song of 2021 in the Obligatory Year End Awards and if it weren't John Frusciante coming back into the fold for the Chili Peppers, I would have probably picked this upcoming Gang of Youths album as my most anticipated for 2022.
After hearing 'angel' I did some digging into their previous works and Gang of Youths have kept getting tighter and tighter sounding as a group. Can't wait to hear the whole album next month.
