Beloved 76ers Announcer Marc Zumoff is Retiring

As if the Sixers news couldn't get any worse...this one hurts.

Marc Zumoff, the beloved play by play announcer for the 76ers has announced that he is retiring after an amazing 27 year run.

Great announcers become synonymous with the experiences of all the high and lows in sports and especially here in Philly, we have been blessed with some legendary voices to go along with our teams. Harry Kalas with the Phillies, Merrill Reese with the Eagles, and for these past 27 years, Zumoff has been there with us for the wild ride it has been with the Sixers.

He always brought the energy and made games so enjoyable to watch with iconic lines "turnin garbage into gold," "we're coming in for a landing,' or just his incredibly emphatic 'YESSSSS!" after a big shot.

The fact that we know it will not be the same watching the Sixers next season and beyond will never be the same is a true testament to how great Marc has been at his job.

I'm gonna miss him.
