Philly Meeting with FIFA to Host Games for 2026 World Cup

We all know that Philly is a football town (go birds), but it may be on its way to become a futbol town (internationally speaking) in the next 5 years. After the 2022 FIFA Wolrd Cup is underway in Qatar, the tournament will be making it's way to North America for 2026 with matches being played across the United States, Canada, and Mexico for the first time since 1994

TODAY, Tuesday March 23rd, Philadelphia officials are meeting with FIFA to make their pitch to be one of the host cities for the tournament, with Lincoln Financial Field being the venue.

Philly is currently one of 17 prospective host cities that are making pitches to be one of the 10, but I think it's safe to say that we would have a pretty good shot. When it comes to sports, tourism, and history, not many can be considered better representative for the US as Philly.

Basically, I'm saying we're built for this. The Linc has already held major soccer events in the past including the 2016 Copa America Centenario tournament, as well as the 2019 US Women's National Team Victory Tour, so I think we got this in the bag.

See you in 2026.
