This year's Record Store Day is boosting sales at independent record stores to all-time highs. According to data tracking firm Luminate, the 2023 edition of the indie record store celebration helped sales surpass one-point-four million vinyl albums at independent stores for the week ending April 27th. That's the most ever in the modern era. Across all retailers, vinyl sales topped one-point-eight-million albums during that week. This year's exclusive Record Store Day releases were headlined by Taylor Swift and Pearl Jam, with their albums finishing in the number one and two spots respectively for the top selling releases.
