Grimes might be going through a public breakup right now, but that clearly hasn't affected her sense of humor. When asked by Page Six about her split from Elon Musk, the musician joked "I'll be colonizing Europa separately from Elon for the lesbian space commune," referring to one of Jupiter's 79 moons.

Musk's SpaceX will be launching NASA's first mission to Europa to see whether the icy moon could have conditions suitable for life in October 2024.

The Tesla founder revealed that he and Grimes were "semi-separated" last week. "We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms," he said. "It's mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She's staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room."

The couple welcomed their first child, a son named X Æ A-Xii Musk, in May 2020. Earlier this month, Grimes (whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher) opened up about motherhood, admitting she didn't identify with the word "mother."

"I think having a baby was a big rebirth for me, artistically. Being a mother feels weird for me to say for some reason. I don't identify with that word," she explained. "Which is also really weird because X, he says 'Claire,' but he doesn't say 'mama' ... like, maybe he can sense my distaste for the word 'mother.'"

She added, "Which, I don't even know why I have a distaste for it, I respect it ... I [just] can't identify with it, weirdly."
