Incredibly sad news to pass along this afternoon as Alex Trebek has passed away at the age of 80 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Best known as the host of Jeopardy! since 1984, the show shared this official statement: "Jeopardy is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends."
He announced his diagnosis to the world in March of 2019 and courageously fought the disease in a public forum, while continuing to host the show.
The show has said that pre-recorded episodes he hosted will continue to air through December 25th. His last day taping in studio was just over a week ago on October 29.
I don't know about you, but a Jeopardy binge watch, along with perhaps a glass of wine or two, seems very much in order. #WeLoveYouAlex
