Nate Ruess' Band The Format Reunites!

Another band has reunited!!

Yes before a solo career and being the frontman of Fun., Nate Ruess fronted a band called The Format...and they were (are) awesome!!

Now the band have reunited for some shows (and hopefully more)! The band which includes Ruess and Sam Means played a surprise acoustic show in Arizona at a viewing party of their live concert film from 2007. At the show they played ten tracks. This wasn't a one-off show either as they've now announced a little tour.

As to why they got together now, Ruess told the crowd: “About a year ago, I was driving and I was listening on random, and Interventions came on… And I was listening to it and I was like ‘I should probably skip this. And I listened and I thought, ‘Holy ****, this kicks ass. This is totally rad.'”

Now the band is playing shows in New York, Chicago, and Phoenix this March and April!

Take a look:

03/20 – New York, NY @ Bowery Ballroom

03/21 – New York, NY @ Bowery Ballroom

03/27 – Chicago, IL @ Lincoln Hall

03/28 – Chicago, IL @ Lincoln Hall

04/03 – Phoenix, AZ @ The Van Buren

Can we please add more dates to that?? I actually saw their very LAST Philly show at The Trocadero with Steel Train opening. Steel Train was the band Jack Antonoff was in before combining forces with Ruess to be in Fun.! Can the band also make new music too?

Check out some footage from the first reunion show:
