Philly Music Venue PhilaMOCA Closed

Our city of Philadelphia is filled with great places to see music, though in the past year we've seen the demise of a few beloved ones!

Now another Philly music venue has been forced to close it's doors...at least temporarily!

Yup, PhilaMOCA in Callowhill has announced that they've closed and were shut down by the Department of Licenses & Inspections because of rezoning. If you've ever attended a show at the spot, it's a really cool intimate venue for concerts, screenings, and other cool events!

Apparently the rezoning process could take a couple months, and the future of the venue is still uncertain.

Naturally, Philly residents are upset by the news and the venue is working towards re-opening with a GoFundMe page to help raise funds.

So far so good too, and as of this article being published they've already almost met their goal of $20,000. As far as events that were scheduled for the near future, they've already moved a lot of them and are working to move more.

Here's hoping that the venue is back soon!
