Gotta say, I admire the persistence of Michael Lang and the organizers of the proposed Woodstock 50 concert which has faced nothing but obstacles leaving most of us confident that they won't be able to pull it off. Yet, they keep trying!
After the latest appeal of their permit request to hold the event at a back up location (after losing the original target venue), the organizers have re-applied for another permit to hold the event in Vernon, NY. No word on what may have changed and led them to believe it will get approved this time, but the Poughkeepsie Journal reports they should have a response by Monday.
The event is scheduled for August 16-18th and apparently most of promoted artists are still on hold, yet tickets have not gone on sale for the proposed venue which could hold 65,000 tickets. And with all of the media stories about the challenges the Festival is happening, I sense most of the World has lost confidence that the event will happen and likely making other plans that weekend. The saga continues....
