Cage The Elephant has canceled European tour

This. Is. Horrible. News.

Cage The Elephant's guitarist (and West Chester native) Nick Bockrath has injured himself during an on stage accident and requires immediate surgery, also forcing Cage The Elephant to cancel several upcoming European tour dates. (I got to spend some time with Nick when Cage played their 'Social Cues' Album Release Party at Philly's Xfinity Live and he seems like a really good dude).

Cage The Elephant is currently scheduled to play at BB&T Pavilion on August 21st and also perform at The iHeartRadio Music Fest in Vegas in September

Here's the official statement from Cage The Elephant:

We regret to inform the fans that Cage The Elephant be cancelling the upcoming European tour dates from 12 June to 20 June. Sadly, our guitarist Nick Bockrath had an accident on stage at "PINKPOP" and injured his leg badly (ruptured PCL, torn ACL, fractured tibia, damaged meniscus). He tried to play through two shows, but e now requires immediate surgery and is currently getting the medical attention he needs. All ticket refunds will be available at original point of purchase (with the exception of Isle of Wright Festival). We will keep you posted on future dates.

Thanks to Mike Marabella for tipping me off...
