Wawa just snagged two liquor licenses for local Philly-area stores: one in DelCo and one within Philly-proper city limits.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board recently auctioned off 25 restaurant liquor licenses and Wawa scored those two...they also tried for one in MontCo, but didn't secure that one.
The company hasn't commented yet on which lucky stores will be getting beer - they'll be joining the ONLY current PA Wawa location selling beer in Chadds Ford.
Seems much more likely that the Philly location will be in Center City, but I'm still not giving up hope that maybe, jussssst maybe my Roxborough/Ridge Avenue store will be THE lucky store.
