In Philly it's all about the cheesesteak no matter what your pallet is right? For those that aren't meat eaters this one's for you! Well, now Philly's own Questlove from The Roots just announced the launch of his very own plant-based cheesesteak sandwich and it's plant-based! The new cheesesteak is, fittingly, called "Questlove's Cheesesteak" and made using plant-based Impossible Meat.
So, when can you try it? For us Philly people it will be very easy! Starting March 28th, Citizens Bank Park will serve Questlove's Cheesesteak at all 81 Philadelphia Phillies home games this season. It'll also be added to the menu of 40 Live Nation owned venues across the US.
“To have the Phillies and Live Nation as our initial partners is great as it speaks to my love for my hometown of Philadelphia combined with my love of music,” Questlove said in a new statement.
“When I first tasted Impossible Meat in 2015, I became obsessed with the product and the company," he said of the plant-based meat, dairy, and fish alternative company.
“As a Philadelphian, of course, I take pride in a great cheesesteak," he says. "My team and I have developed a recipe using Impossible Meat that we hope will offer a delicious and sustainable alternative for all cheesesteak eaters.”
