All know our city of Philadelphia knows how to party, right?? And now that said partying has earned us another honor! We were ranked 2nd in the best cities to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the US!
Yes! While we couldn't take the top spot (I mean...Chicago dyes the river green), we did do really well! The people over at WalletHub went through all the pros and cons of 200 major U.S. cities to find the best ones to celebrate the upcoming holiday and we did really well!
How did they figure this out? They factored in weather, the average cost of beer, access to bars, and (of course) the percent of Irish population in each city.
A lot of us ranking 2nd has to do with the fact that our parade dates back to 1771 making it the second oldest in the country. PLUS we have a TON of Irish pubs!!
So if you plan on celebrating the debauchery the holiday has to offer next week, you're definitely in the right place!
