In a stunning reversal, Comedy Central revealed this week that despite it previously renewing comedy "Tosh.0" for 4 more seasons in January of this year, it is now cancelling the show, and it's upcoming 12th season will be its last.
The network revealed that the 12th season will premiere with its final 10 episodes on September 15th. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the show is currently trying to shop to other outlets for a possible pickup.
The news comes just a day after Comedy Central also cancelled another long-running series, "Drunk History." The network is going through a bit of an overhaul currently, under new president Chris McCarthy. Per THR, the network's "new" strategy involves 3 areas of content: adult animation, topical series (like The Daily Show), and made-for-TV comedy films. This can be seen in the network's recent pickups of revivals of shows like "Beavis and Butt-head" and "Ren & Stimpy."
The series finale will officially air November 24th.
