As most of Southeastern Pennsylvania moves into the green phase of Governor Tom Wolf's reopening plan starting today, here's everything you need to know.
Starting today (Friday June 26), nearly all of Southeastern Pennsylvania is in the green phase. Philadelphia is technically in the green phase today, but it's a modified green phase, with more things able to open up starting next week.
Today, however, Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Berks counties are all in the green.
HERE IS WHAT THE GREEN PHASE LOOKS LIKE IN PHILLY SUBURBS
- Continued telework strongly encouraged
- Must wear masks when going into businesses
- Masks are recommended while out in public
- All businesses operating at 50% occupancy in the yellow phase may increase to 75% occupancy
- Restaurants and Bars can open at 50% occupancy
- Large gatherings of more than 250 are prohibited
- Personal care services (hair salons, barbershops, etc.) can open at 50% occupancy and by appointment only
- Gyms and spas can open at 50% occupancy with appointments strongly encouraged
- Entertainment venues (casinos, theaters, malls) can open at 50% occupancy
Things for Philadelphia specifically, however, look a little differently, per 6ABC. Telework is strongly encouraged, masks are required when going into businesses, and masks are recommended while out in public. Personal care services may open, but there are other businesses that cannot yet:
These activities can resume on June 26 in Philadelphia:
-Residential swimming pools and private swim clubs
-Zoos (outside only)
-Personal services such as salons, barbers, and spas
-Small indoor social and religious gatherings (up to 25 people)
These activities are expected to resume on July 3 in Philadelphia:
-Outdoor group recreational and sports activities for youth and adults
-Gyms and indoor exercise classes
-Schools and colleges
-Libraries and museums
-Indoor shopping malls
-Outdoor performances and small outdoor events (up to 50 people)
-Restaurants with indoor seating (with occupancy restrictions)
These activities will not be permitted right away under the green phase in Philadelphia:
-Casinos
-Restaurants and bars with indoor seating (no occupancy restrictions)
-Large outdoor events (more than 50 people)
-Theaters and indoor events
-In-person conventions/conferences
-Large indoor social and religious gatherings (more than 25 people)
-Senior services involving gatherings, such as adult daycare
